What is the difference between the two qualifications, Certificate III in Health Administration, and Certificate IV in Health Administration?
Although the titles look very similar, there are many essential differences between these two certifications. Let’s understand what they are.
Certificate III in Health Administration is ideal for anyone who has just graduated from school, and is planning to explore a stable career in healthcare administrative, in a role where they will be providing assistance to customers. This course is also well suited for professionals who are planning a change of career too and wish to re-skill themselves. For example, someone having experience in Real Estate, Banking or Retail can complete the Certificate III in Health Administration course and will be well equipped to work in the Health industry as a medical receptionist, administration executive or general office help. The curriculum covers basic functionalities like Communication, Documentation, and Implementation of Workplace Standards.
Certificate IV in Health Administration, on the other hand, is ideal for those who are already working in the Health Industry and wish to make a foray into the Administration side of the business and pursue a Managerial or Team leadership role in the future. They can get an in-depth understanding of Billing and Accounts, and will learn to build an effective team and communicate with them effectively. Other units cover the management and mitigation of Workplace Risks, and —most importantly—will cover Customer Relationships, with proven practices on continual improvement of customer-related tasks. Anyone who has a passion for providing the best service and an eye for improving the business financially should undertake this course. Graduates of this course can work as Departmental Heads, Team Leaders, and Managers. After a few years of experience, they can take the opportunity to upskill their education to a Diploma in Practice Management which will equip them to become Successful Facility Managers who are responsible for the overall business activities of a Health Practice.
