Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care provides a foundation in childhood education.It covers topics such as child development and psychology, child Nutrition, life coping skills, pedagogy and planning, and organization of pre-schools and daycare centers.

Domestic Students

IHNA considers you a "domestic" student if you are an Australian citizen or permanent resident, a New Zealand citizen, or the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa, and those who are in Australia with a minimum 1-year visa, which covers the Diploma in Early childhood education and care course without any study limitation on visa (Except subclass 500 holders).

Entry Requirements

  • Hold a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care course certificate possess basic computer skills.
  • Applicants will have to demonstrate their competence in literacy and numeracy levels in an Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) at Exit Level 3 and participate in a pre-training review (PTR) when enrolling into the course.

Additional Requirement for professional experience placement (PEP)

  • A satisfactory National Police Clearance / Australian Federal Police Clearance Certificate (AFP) / NCC
  • Working with children check (WCC)
  • Applicable immunisation certification such as COVID-19 Certificate.IHNA highly recommends students to complete the immunisation process before the PEP start date as some facilities will not provide placement to students without Immunisation.
