Introduction

Management is the application, organisation and coordination of the activities of an enterprise in accordance with certain policies, procedures and practices. Individuals at this level display initiative and judgement in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. This involves the use of communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational or enterprise requirements. This course aims to develop knowledge of management skills by explaining and drawing on modern practices and methods to achieve business objectives. It engenders a holistic approach to the role of the management discipline within industry, business and society, and promotes the ability to identify factors that impact most on management success.

Diploma of Leadership and Management BSB51918 is specifically designed for people who are looking to advance within the Leadership and Management sector. Our course will allow you to advance within your career and provide you with the skills, knowledge and confidence, to lead and manage teams within the workplace.

Course Delivery

The course is provided through Face to Face or Blended mode of delivery. It will be delivered (720 hours) and assessed (80 hours) over a total of 800 hours which will include theory, self-paced structured e-learning as per the session plan and simulation training and its assessments.

FACE TO FACE ON-CAMPUS:

Full Time: 2 days / week classes with simulation training.

Part Time: 1 day / week classes with simulation training.

BLENDED:

Full fee Students: Online Theory with on-campus simulation training.
Students currently working in the industry: Online Theory with on-campus simulation training

Entry Requirements

IHNA has in place admission criteria for courses in its scope as required by its ‘Application and Enrolment Procedure for VET Courses’ to ensure that candidates meet industry requirements.

  • Applicants are required to be 18 years old and above
  • In addition, all the applicants are required to have successfully completed an ACSF test and demonstrate competence as working at Level 4 for all indicators to enroll for this qualification (issued within the last 12 months from the time of admission).

It is also essential for the student to possess basic computer skills.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are encouraged to apply.

How Is The Course Assessed?

Assessment strategies are implemented for collecting evidence and making judgements about whether competency has been achieved by the learner.

The assessments confirm whether an individual can perform to the standards expected in the workplace, as expressed in the relevant endorsed unit of competency.

Assessment tools used include :
  • Knowledge Based Assessments (KBA)
  • Simulation Based Assessments (SBA)

Frontline Sales Manager, Team Leader, Production Supervisor, Leading Hand, Distribution Centre Supervisor, Supervisor, Warehouse Team Leader, Sales Team Manager, Line Manager, Coordinator (Business Operations).

55% of the Surveyed graduates of this course who have an improved employment status, such as found work, new job, promotion, pay increase or setup/expansion of own business.

On successful completion of the course the candidate can apply to do the Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management or a range of other Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualifications.

In addition, depending on units/electives completed in this course, you may be eligible for advanced standing in other courses and other Training Package qualifications.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) & Credit Transfer (CT)

What is RPL?

RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) assesses your competency(s) that may have been acquired through formal, non-formal and informal learning or direct work experience to determine if you meet the required skills and knowledge specified in a training package or VET accredited courses.

What is Credit Transfer?

Credit transfer applies where students have completed units of study at another TAFE College or Registered Training Organisation, including IHNA, that meet the requirements of another qualification or the applicable training package. Credit will be granted in accordance with the Certification, Issuing and Recognition of Qualifications and Statements of Attainment. There is no fee to assess a Credit Transfer.

If you are eligible for RPL or CT you may be able to complete the course in a shorter duration with reduction in your total course fees*.
